Yo dude check it out. Caves of Qud is this epic sci-fi fantasy game that is retro-cool. Imagine a world where you can dig through walls with a pickaxe, or even melt them with corrosive gas mutations! And get this—every monster and NPC is as detailed as you, with skills, gear, and even body parts. So if you wanna dominate a spider and run around as one, you totally can!

There are over 70 factions like apes, robots, and even sentient trees you can buddy up with. The setting is wild too—think fifteen years of worldbuilding creating this crazy, labyrinthine storyworld. It is like living in a sci-fi movie bro.

The gameplay is tactical and turn-based so you can explore and fight in a million different ways depending on your mutations and skills. In addition, it is got RPG stuff like quests, NPCs, and villages to explore. And the soundtrack? Two hours of out-of-this-world music, man!

You can play as a mutant from the desert or an eco-dome survivor, with over 70 mutations and tons of cyber implants to tweak your character. It’s classic roguelike too, meaning when you die, that’s it—game over. Super tough but super rewarding, especially if you’re into hardcore challenges. Or you can play more chill, focusing on exploring without all the constant battling.

The game’s almost done after over fifteen years of work! They’re adding the final main quest, a new UI, tons of visual and sound effects, and just polishing everything up. It’s been a labor of love for the devs since 2007, growing from a dream into this massive, living world of stories and simulations.
