OVERVIEW
This game plays like a Real-Time-with-Pause RPG—think Dragon Age Origins or Neverwinter Nights. Combat takes center stage, and there’s a splash of action RPG flavor in the mix. But don’t expect mindless button mashing or anything like Dark Souls. The whole idea is to keep things strategic, but still keep your heart rate up.
You get two combat modes. Automatic lets you issue a command, then your character handles the fighting, just like the old-school RPGs. If you want more hands-on control, switch to Manual. Now you’re clicking for every hit and pressing a button to defend, which feels more active but doesn’t turn the game into a standard action RPG.
