Yo dude listen up. You’re part of this rad crew called the Liminal Layer Society—basically, a squad of spellcasters who keep the world safe from creepy stuff leaking out of the Void. Your mission? Explore the Liminal Layer which is like this sketchy bridge between reality and the Void. Heads up, bro: YOU'RE GONNA DIE. A LOT. But hey, dying’s actually progress cause it gets you closer to taking down the Void Gods, your main targets.
You can pick from four sick characters, each with their own playstyle and spells. Choose wisely, bro, ‘cause your ending totally changes based on who you roll with and their sidekick. Things are gonna get dark, chaotic, and seriously confusing.
Oh, and yo, this isn’t a game for anyone with epilepsy. There’s a ton of flashing lights and screen effects. We’re working on a safe mode, but for now, beware!
To fight off the Void Gods and their minions, you’ll need these things called “Sigils.” They’re like your spell currency and also get you to the next layer safely. How long you last in each layer depends on your “Death Counter” and how good you are at avoiding these liminal creeps. When you die, you get thrown into a new random layer, but you’ll miss out on grabbing more Sigils. You may also be interested in the game Lord of Rigel.
Liminal Entities are nasty and will straight-up kill you if they touch you. But if you snatch their souls, you can use them to cast more spells. Other than that, snatching souls gives you extra time on your death counter, so you can explore more and find more sigils.
To survive, you’ve gotta either grab the souls or take them out. Spells are your go-to for combat, and they work differently depending on the enemy. Stronger spells need more sigils, so stack up if you wanna be ready for the Void Gods. They’re tough, bro, so get ready for a long haul.
You can hit Layer 444 in two ways: do nothing, keep dying, and get wrecked by the Void Gods with zero sigils, or actually fight, stockpile sigils, and unleash spells on them. It is gonna be a grind.
The gameplay’s got that rogue-inspired vibe, focusing on strategy and managing your resources. Death isn’t the end, man; you always get another shot in the next layer.
Scoring’s all about kills, soul snatches, and collecting sigils. With four unique characters, 16 different endings, 32 unique spells, 12 game-changing skills, over 20 liminal entities, and a sick guitar-heavy and extreme metal soundtrack, this game’s gonna be wild!
