Yo dude. Dive into post-revolutionary Mexico City with Mexico, 1921. A Deep Slumber. It’s this totally epic, emotional adventure game where you explore how the country’s waking up from years of chaos.
So, Mexico City in 1921 is buzzing with all the stuff that went down during the revolution. Álvaro Obregón, the big bro who led the revolution, is now running the show with a fresh new social setup.
But the people are craving education and rights, and he’s got a squad of brainy peeps like José Vasconcelos and art legends like Diego Rivera to help steer the country to a better future. But get this, seven years later, Obregón gets shot under some super sketchy circumstances.
In this game, you play as Juan Aguirre, a young photojournalist who gets caught up in Mexico’s wild transformation. You’ll be diving into the trippy revolutionary art scene, hanging out with politicians, and using your camera to figure out why Mexico’s not for the faint of heart. You’ll explore spots like the zócalo, the old police inspection area, the Secretary of Public Education, and even travel with Dr. Atl into Popocatépetl’s crater to see the galaxy being born. It is a rich, detailed world that will totally change how you think about Mexico.
Check out up to seven historic places like the National Palace and the old Merced Convent, all in a rad visual style inspired by Mexican artists. You’ll even get to chill with famous muralists, chat with politicians, and poets, and visit the legendary Castañeda psychiatric hospital!
Use Juan’s camera to snap pics, mess with the depth of field, aperture, and zoom to capture your own version of the city. You can document everything from politicians to artists and build up a sick post-revolution archive.
Other than that, hunt for 100+ collectibles to unlock extra historical goodies like quotes poems and recipes. We teamed up with the National Newspaper Library and the Popular Arts Museum to make sure it’s packed with legitimate historical content.
