OVERVIEW
The story unfolds in 1642, right at the tail end of the Ming Dynasty. Fang Zhiyou, a scholar, is crushed when he learns that his childhood love, Su Lianyan, has died. The loss just swallows him whole. He starts drinking heavily and sinks into the belief that the world is a cruel place. His memories blur, and eventually, he just stops caring about life altogether.
Fast forward three years—Fang suddenly finds himself trapped inside a nightmare world of his own creation, a place he once wrote about called Lion Camel Kingdom. Demons attack the city. Everything’s chaos. Somehow, in the middle of all this, he runs into a wild girl who calls herself Little Yan, and she looks just like Su Lianyan.
