OVERVIEW
Dead Format drops you into 1990s Scotland, where your brother has vanished after getting hooked on a mysterious, cursed VHS tape. You play as his sibling, desperate to track him down. The only lead? Those tapes. Every time you watch one, you’re pulled into a twisted world that feels like it’s stitched together from old movies—silent films, gritty Italian horror, even the bizarre body horror stuff from the ’80s.
Back at your apartment, things slow down. It’s your safe zone, somewhere to catch your breath, spread out clues, and brace yourself before diving back in. The TV is your portal; slide in a tape, and you’re off to another strange, unsettling world.
