OVERVIEW
Ash & Rust throws you into a gritty, dark fantasy world and gives you full control over how your character develops. At its core, it’s a top-down action RPG, but what really sets it apart is how your abilities, traits, and gear all interact. The game’s inventory system is a bit like a puzzle—you’ve got a grid, and you need to fit different augment shapes into it. The more you manage to squeeze in, the tougher you get. Figuring out how to arrange everything becomes almost as important as the battles themselves.
Right from the start, you’re crafting your own abilities. You pick a base type, decide what kind of effect you want, and choose an element. As you level up, you’ll unlock new augments, which let you tweak and improve your abilities even further. With hundreds of augments and tons of gear to choose from, there’s a ridiculous amount of ways to build your character.
