Supernormal actually made it into our hands. It doesn't hit you as hard as PT, but it's got a few moments that are worth it... as long as you can get past its kinda meh first half.
Just like PT, Supernormal is set in one spot – Mr. Sakamoto's cool Japanese crib. You're playing as this detective dude named Wyatt, trying to figure out what the heck happened to Sakamoto's daughter, Sophia.
The place looks fine and dandy, but there are signs that stuff went down. Blood on the piano, handprints all over the bathroom, and a gun just chillin' next to the washing machine – you know, the usual. Instead of a crazy looping hallway, Supernormal makes you get to know Sakamoto's place really well. As you snoop around, weird sounds and creepy blood trails reveal the messed-up stuff that went on.
Sounds cool, right? Well, it would be if the game didn't have some weird choices, especially in the first half. The opening scene is just your guy Wyatt and Mr. Sakamoto staring at each other for like three minutes while the volume cranks up, and you can barely hear what they're saying. Plus, the subtitles just peace out.
Then, once you're set loose in the house, Wyatt won't shut up. He talks about every random thought that pops into his head, and it gets annoying real quick. "Bloody handprints in a piano-loving place," he mutters when he sees blood on the piano. "It's creepy thinking about what happened to Sophia. I'm gonna search every nook and cranny for answers." Like, dude, we get it. Keep it down a bit. You may also like more horror game Despair.
