Within of Static throws you right into the middle of first-person psychological horror, delivered in episodes. Each one digs into a different story—stories pulled from people who swear these nightmares actually happened to them. It’s not just about jump scares. The game really leans into those raw, human fears that get under your skin and stay there.
The first episode, Ashburg Rental, puts you in Riley Adams’ shoes. She’s a new teacher, full of hope, moving to Ashburg for her first real job. Riley finds this little house, thinking it’s the perfect fresh start. But pretty quickly, it’s clear the place isn’t as empty as she thought. What begins as a peaceful, rainy evening gets twisted fast, and Riley can’t shake the feeling she’s not alone. The fear just keeps building from there.
